Northern Genocide, founded in 2010 in Finland is a modern melodic death metal band with industrial influences. Thematically, the band's eco-dystopian music is more relevant than ever, as the lyrics deal with overpopulation, climate change, corruption and the abuse of power. It is quite descriptive to call the music of this genre boundary breaking band, dystopian melodeath.
Alongside the band's heavy sound and themes, there is also a glimmer of joy when the band released their own version of "Roviolla" originally performed by Finnish pop-band Gimmel, in autumn 2025. Band's new vocalist Joni Parkkinen got to show his skills for the first time with this band. Northern Genocide has released two full-length albums and an EP; Planet Asylum (EP, 2015), Genesis vol. 666 (album, 2019) and The Point of No Return was released in early 2024. HOX!
